Function and application
Entecavir, a nucleoside analogue of guanine, has an inhibitory effect on hepatitis B virus (HBV) polymerase. It can be converted into active triphosphate through phosphorylation.
The half-life of triphosphate in cells is 15 hours. The natural substrate competes with the deoxyguanosine triphosphate of HBV polymerase, and entecavir triphosphate can inhibit all three activities of viral polymerase (reverse transcriptase)
Entecavir powder cas 209216-23-9 is a reverse transcriptase inhibitor that works by preventing the hepatitis B virus from multiplying and thereby decreasing the amount of the virus in the body.
However, it is important to note that entecavir is not a cure for HBV and it may not prevent damage to the liver or reduce the chances of developing liver cancer.
