Inosine is white crystalline powder; odorless; slightly bitter taste. It is slightly soluble in water, insoluble in chloroforrm and ethanol, and easily soluble in alkaline solutions such as dilute hydrochloric aacid or sodium hydroxidde. The saturated aqueous solution of this product contains about 1.5% inosine. mp 218°C (decomposition). Uses Chemicalbook is involved in energy metabolism and protein synthesis in the body. It can be used to treat leukopenia, thrombocytopenia, etc. caused by various reasons.
